Basic Fitting Guidelines
Below are basic guidelines for insuring a proper Pickguard for your instrument.  Simply, 95% of a guard is fit.  The remaining 5% is the material and color you choose.
NOTE TO BUILDERS:  If you are assembling your instrument from after market parts CMK guards are meant to fit original brand products. (oem's)  Tolerances have been allowed to off-set possible problems, however if there is a question on your body blank, neck or pickup position contact us for a quick review.  If exact answers to the proper guard are needed please send a simple tracing of guard and we will check the match.  We're here to help!
1)  You can locate the guard you need by using the 'Locate A     Guard' button on each page.
2)  You may also have custom work done by visiting our 'Custom Shop'.  These links are located on the top and left side of each page.

3)  Count the number of attachment screw holes you currently have on you're original, and compare with the new one you have chosen, they should be the same.  (see figure 1)
NOTE: If you don't require these mounting screw holes we can make guard without them at no additional charge.

4)  In figure 2 red circles indicate other mounting type holes such as pickups and switches.  Do not include these in your mounting hole count.  The yellow circles show possible mounting holes which should be included.
5)  CMK takes great care to make sure all measurements are exact to oem's dimensions, however small variances will naturally occur given the thousands of guards produced by original guitar manufacturer every year.
Pickup Adjustments
Pickups are either attached to the pickguard itself, or screwed into the body of the guitar.  If you have a body attached pickup and fit is a problem do the following:
1)  Check to see that all pickguard mounting holes align with you're original holes, if the pickup is in the way gently remove it and check fit again.
2)  Loosely attach new guard using a few screws to secure then place pickup back into position making sure it's not jammed against the body cavity.
3)  Check if you can now re-attach the pickup to body using original screw holes.  If not, (and pickup is fitting well) you will need to make a new mounting hole for that screw.
HINT:  Many times only one of the two pickup mounting screws will need change.
